As I mentioned a while back , I may have made a sneaky order from Feelunique.com (I acknowledge I have a problem! ) . And one of these purchases was a Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in the shade 'Purple' . Now this is not the first time I've used this line ,you may have noticed I am a big
fan and user of the liner in 'Bronze' , love it ! The same goes for other colours I have in Black , Nude and Taupe . The pigment in the liners are great , colours are intense , they go on so creamy and they last for ages . So I was really looking forward to trying this one in 'Purple' , as I thought it would make my green eyes stand out .
When it arrived it was the first thing I tried out , I swatched it straightaway , but I was left a little disappointed , I was hoping it would be a deeper shade of purple ,(my fault for not checking properly!) whereas this is a little more on the lighter side of purple , not the plummy tone I was hoping for . I also noticed that the pigment wasn't as strong and its texture wasn't as silky as the others that I have from the same line . Sadly , it just fell a little flat .
Now saying all this , I do still use it ! Not in the same way as I had hoped , but I still found a way around it . Instead , I use it in conjunction with another colour . Seeing as the pigment doesn't quite pack as much of a punch as the others , I have been using it on top of another liner . For example if I am lining my waterline with the bronze shade , I'll run the purple over the top of it , and I just find that it gives a little something else to it , and gives it a 'purpley' tone , that makes my green eyes pop a little more . The same goes with the black eye liner , I'll run the purple over the top , and it helps compliment my eyes . I've also used this under the lash line in the same way , to give the same effect! And this one is just as waterproof and smudge proof as the others !
All in all , not quite what I had hoped for . For some reason this shade just can't quite hold its own with the others in the otherwise fantastic range - that said I still have found uses for it !
