The last time I was in London , I wandered my way through to the Selfridges Beauty Hall ( You can't not !? ) . After spending a good while ogling all the different beauty counters , I happened to find my self at the Jo Malone section . I had been on the look out for a fragrance while I was over there , but I wanted something a little different .
A lovely lady came over and explained the scents , and asked what kind of fragrances I typically prefer , so she could suggest a few that might tickle my fancy , instead of going round and sniffing every fragrance they had , which I could have easily done as there were so many lovely colognes !
In the end I went for their ' Peony & Blush Suede Cologne ' which is described on their website as : "The essence of charm. Peonies in voluptuous bloom, exquisitely fragile. Flirtatious with the juicy bite of red apple and the opulence of jasmine, rose and gillyflower. Mingling with the sensuality of soft, blush suede. Luxurious and seductive."
Top Note : Red Apple Heart note : Peony Base note : Suede
Which I think really translates well from the scent .
I love the packaging of Jo Malone colognes , very simple , chic and timeless looking , it just feels like something special and luxurious . Now I am pretty awful at describing fragrance , but I will try my very best . I picked up this particular one , as I was on the look out for something for the spring time , warmer months and day wear , and this hits the nail on the head . It's a very 'pretty' scent , floral and sweet at the same time , but not overly so , or overpowering . After a couple of hours of wearing it , its dries down to a warmer , comforting scent ( if that makes any sense at all ! ) which I guess is down to the bottom note of suede . I don't find it lasts ages on my skin , but I got a good 3-4 hours before it started to fade .
I picked it up in the 30ml bottle , so it's perfect to throw in my handbag for top ups throughout the day . I'm just loving using it since I got it , perfect for spring/summer days , but also kinda seductive enough to wear on an evening .
I would definitely suggest having a bit of a sniff of it if your heading to the U.K , and while your at it their candles to , they are amazing !
