The Yay - And The Nay..

This month I picked up a couple of products from the 'Simple' range , I was on the look out for a face mask and a face wash as my skin was leaning a little more to the oily side as of late . I've used Simple products in the past , and never had any issues , so I thought I'd give them a go . One did the job it claimed , while the other .. well it was quite a flop !

To get the negative out the way quickly , I'll start with the disappointment out the two first . The 'Simple Kind To Skin Deep Cleansing Face Mask'  , when looking at the ingredient list everything seemed quite alright , it contains natural clay , seaweed extracts , vitamin E etc .. And as it says in the name it claims to be a deep cleansing face mask - well that it certainly was not . Once I got home , I cleansed my face ready to pop this stuff on , squeezed some out , and thought something had gone wrong . It wasn't anything like any other mask I'd ever tried before , the feel of it and the consistency was just like a moisturiser ! I even rubbed some into my hands , and it completely disappeared and absorbed into my skin . Nevertheless I tried it out , maybe it could still work ! It didn't . There really was no difference to my skin at all , you know that feeling you get when you've removed a good face mask , your skin feels squeaky clean and revitalised , don't expect that with this. It just kind of sits on your skin like you've applied a thick layer of moisturiser . The only thing I could say is it might have added a touch of hydration to my skin , but that was really about it unfortunately !

Next up is the 'Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Face Wash' , which is exactly as you would expect from the title . It does the job , it's a very gentle exfoliating face wash , I got this to replace my Soap & Glory Face Wash which recently finished (sob..) , but so far I'm pretty happy with it ! It is nothing out of this world , but it does exactly what it says on the tin , and you can't really ask for much more than that . I've been using it every morning and evening in the shower , and I love that it leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean , it does help control oil , and it hasn't irritated my skin at all .

So to end on a positive note , if your looking for something to help balance oily skin , I'd definitely recommend giving the face wash a go , it definitely does the job - and it's only around 5 euros !
