Almond Oil - The Beauty Multi-tasker

I first discovered this , when my little man was a baby , and had something called cradle cap which is common in most newborns , and the doc told us to try this out . Sure enough it worked a treat and totally cleared up . And only needing a few drops I still had a full bottle left , so decided to have a look and see what else I could use it for , I found a multitude of uses !

Almond oil is rich in vitamins A , B , E and D , nutrients and anti oxidants . Now you'll probably notice that quite a bit of moisturisers contain these ingredients , but with a heavier price tag at the end! But this is all natural , no nasty chemicals . This makes Almond oil - unless you have a nut allergy - perfect for all sorts of things , including skin , hair , body , hands , and nails. Not to mention cooking and baking too ! ( But that's for a different post !)

The way I use this for my face , before I go to bed (especially in winter when my skin is soo dry ) or if I'm having a pampered day at home , after cleansing I use a couple of drops and massage into my skin - so hydrating ! It just seems to really moisturise deeper into the skin .You'll notice the difference in the morning , things look much better ! This is also said to improve dark circles as well . You can also use this a gentle cleanser , and being an oil it also removes waterproof make up .
You can use almond oil mixed with a little sugar , as a natural lip scrub - and it will keep in the fridge for a good while .

It can be used for hands and nails , I like to use it on my cuticles , and when I'm at home as a moisturiser for my hands , you only need a couple of drops . And in winter ( or summer if you can manage! ) massage the oil into your feet , pop some socks on , and in the morning your feet will thank you ! It's also really soothing for any dry patches ,skin irritations , and sun burnt skin .

Massage a drop or two into your hands , and use on the ends of your hair , to keep things soft and add shine . One thing I found this AMAZING for is to be used on your scalp . For the past couple of years , I suffered with a sensitive and dry scalp , and after seeing what it did for my little man , I thought I'd give it a go to . All I did , before I got in the shower , was massage it into my scalp and roots of my hair , then left it for about 15 -20 mins , jumped in the shower , shampooed twice but didn't use conditioner .
And after one treatment , it felt sooo much better ! It worked like nothing else I had tried before , and a tiny fraction of the price . Now I do this once or twice a month and it has seriously improved things! Leaves your hair incredibly shiny to - bonus !

You can usually find this at pharmacies , health stores etc , and it's so cheap at around 2-3 euros , one bottle will last months !
