Skin Saviours

You know you've got something good going , when you can't be without it , and no matter what , you just keep going back to . Nothing else can quite compare . You just feel content knowing that all your needs are being taken care of ... Oh yes , I'm talking about my Skin Saviours ! ( What else?! )


Each and every one of us has different needs when it comes to skin care , but these are my absolute front runners .

If I ever notice that areas on my body are getting dry or irritated I go straight for my 'La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume AP' . The product itself is a thick buttery texture and fragrance free . I'm not even exaggerating , this little hero is amazing ! It will clear up any dry patches , any irritations due to dry skin after just a couple of uses , and really helps soothe sun burnt skin (especially if put in the fridge for a while to chill ). I also keep it handy on my bedside table to use on my hands before getting into bed , it really makes a difference . It also cleared up my little mans mild eczema after just two days when nothing else was quite working ! ( For any mums interested/or someone with eczema , the 'La Roche Posay Lipikar Syndet' was the shower wash I used to help prevent any further eczema ) . My miracle worker !


Speaking of miracle workers , since I discovered this, I can not be without it ! It's the 'Nuxe Reve De Miel' . You can't buy it in Malta , but they stock it on feelunique.com and currently at 33% off its a bargain at 8.23 Euros ( needless to say my visa will be seeing some action !) .
I cannot say enough about this little pot of amazing ! It works like no other lip balm I have ever owned . I used to suffer with dry lips , and would have to exfoliate them to get rid of any flaky skin . No longer ! It just works , theres not much else to it , it just does everything I could want a lip balm to do . Dry flaky lips are a thing of the past , it lasts on the lips for a good while , I really like that it has a matte finish , so it doesn't look like you've got anything on . It's perfect for putting on 10 minutes before you apply a lipstick , to keep your lips feeling moisturised . I haven't even mentioned the smell yet ! Just like Terry's Chocolate Orange . Nuff' said !

Next up is a relatively new discovery of mine , 'Bio-Oil' . Also a purchase from feelunique.com , but you can buy it in most pharmacy's over here , I bought the 60ml version to try it out first . And I have to say once this finishes I will most definitely be repurchasing .  On the box it says that "Bio-Oil is a specialist skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. It is also effective for ageing and dehydrated skin."  I can't say I've tried it out on stretch marks ( I don't know why , Lord knows I've got a few !) , but I apply a few drops to my face and neck every night . And I just feel like my skin looks and feels so much better when I wake up . It just seems brighter , more hydrated , and seems to keep any breakouts at bay .
 60ml retails for around 10Euros .

When I do find my skin is playing up , and just feels a bit clogged , I go for the 'La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +' . Its a nice light textured gel , which I particularly like to use in summer as a moisturiser , or base under any make up . It just seems to work , I don't know the science behind it , but it reduces imperfections , unclogs pores and over time helps fade marks left behind by pesky spots . Unfortunately I've got the kind of skin that scars really easily , even if I leave a spot well alone , it'll leave behind a nice red mark that lingers around for a few months . And I just find this seems to quicken the healing time , helps prevent any further break outs and improves the texture of my skin . It retails for around 13 Euros .

The last one on my list is 'Soap and Glory - Face Soap And Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash' . Quite the mouthful ! Sadly , Soap and glory isn't available in Malta , but believe me I wish it was , I love this brand ! However you can find them on Ebay.co.uk and some sellers ship over here . This is the old packaging that I have , as they have repackaged all the skincare .
Alas on to the actual product ,  I keep this in the shower as I find it is such a good fresh , wake  me up , kind of face wash . It has little beads in it that give some gentle exfoliation , and has a really nice slightly fruity minty scent  to it . My skin just feels so squeeky clean after using this , it gets rid of any last traces of dirt or make up , leaving you with that fresh face feeling . I use a moisturiser after using this , I tend to use the Bio-Oil , as I do find it dries my skin out a little , but that doesn't really bother me as I dont find any other face wash gives me the same result .This retails for around £9 - £10 .
